House Rules

By making your reservation and payment, you agree that you have read, understand and agree with these rules, and you will ensure everyone in your party will abide by them. Thank you.

Restrictions

1. No Smoking. No smoking is permitted in the units or anywhere on the property. Fire is an extreme danger on the island.

2. No Pets. No pets are permitted.

3. No Parties, Etc. No parties, events, large gatherings, loud noises or disruptive behavior.

4. Occupancy Limits. The number of guests must not exceed the reservation or listed maximum.

5. Fire Prevention. Beach fires are strictly prohibited due to extreme fire risk and lack of emergency services on the island. No candles anywhere on the property (except birthday cake candles are welcome). No fireworks of any kind, including sparklers.

6. Guest Responsibility. You will keep your Seaside unit in a general state of cleanliness during your stay, leave the unit in good repair, and not in disarray or excessively dirty. You must immediately report any unsafe or dangerous condition. The use of the property is entirely at your risk. Children must be attended at all times by their parent or responsible adult.

7. Furnishings & Electronics. Furnishings are subject to change without notice and must not be removed from the unit (except for beach towels). Loss of items or damage in excess of normal wear will be charged to you. If something should break or become damaged, please notify management immediately so that a replacement can be made.

8. BBQ Grill. A gas BBQ grill is provided for shared use on the tiled lower side level of the Seaside property and may not be moved. You must clean the grill thoroughly after each use. If the propane level is getting low, please notify management.

9. Assumption of Risk. Participation in island activities (including without limitation swimming, wading, snorkeling, paddleboarding, boating, hiking) involves many inherent risks, up to and including serious injury and death. Seaside is not responsible for predicting if any area or activity is safe, whether on Seaside’s property, the island of Staniel Cay or the surrounding area, and whether or not the activities or equipment were provided by Seaside or arranged by its management. Guest safety cannot be guaranteed. You accept full responsibility for your own safety and that of your entire group, and you agree that neither Seaside, its owner, manager or representatives bears any responsibility whatsoever. Should any accident or injury occur, you shall be solely responsible for the cost of medical services, transportation and all related costs.

Please Do Your Part

10. Trash & Putting Food Away. To avoid insects and vermin, please do not leave any food sitting out that is not tightly covered, and keep counters and floors free of crumbs and drips. Ants and bugs converge quickly on any trace of food or sweet. When an inside trash bag becomes full, tie it tightly closed and place it in the trash barrel provided outside. We do not have access to recycling on Staniel Cay, so you may place paper, plastic and glass trash together.

11. Outdoor Furniture. The outdoor chairs and side table for your unit’s porch must remain there. The aluminum frame deck furniture must remain on the waterfront deck at all times. The plastic Adirondack chairs may be carried to the beach, but please return them to Seaside’s waterfront deck when you are finished.

12. Stand Up Paddleboards. At the end of each use, please return the paddleboard and paddle to its rack. Use of paddleboards is at your own risk. Stay within sight of Seaside at all times and do not paddle into the channel with speedboat traffic.

13. Tide Levels. Please pay attention to the tides and high-water lines on the beach. Do not leave chairs, paddles, towels or personal belongings unattended below the water line.

14. Limited Utilities. When you leave your unit, please turn off lights and turn off A/C units or set them to 78-80 degrees. The units will cool the space down quickly upon your return.

Things to Know

15. Island Infrastructure. Along with the benefits of simple island living comes its challenges. DISRUPTIONS, OUTAGES AND LOSS OF SERVICE may occur with Electricity (including Air Conditioning), Water, Internet and Television. All rentals on Staniel Cay face the same challenges. Seaside has a standby generator and a backup water system, and we do our best to minimize any impact to your vacation, but no island rental can guarantee service.

16. Lock Up. Part of the charm of the island is its relative safety. However, with an increase in visitors and people on the Cay, it is best to be cautious. Please lock your unit when you leave. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

17. Provided Linens. A set of towels and linens is provided. Bed linens are not changed for stays less than a week. Bed linens and bath towels must not be removed from the unit. Beach towels may be used outside and off-property, but must be returned in good condition.

18. Kitchen Supplies. Dishes, utensils, pots and pans are provided. Appliances and amenities are subject to change without notice. For your convenience, you will find a starter supply in limited quantity of coffee filters, salt/pepper, sugar, creamer. You are responsible for bringing or purchasing your own food, beverages and kitchen supplies. Toilet paper, dishsoap and basic cleaning supplies are provided.

19. Not a Resort. Seaside is a collection of units for accommodations purposes only and is not a managed resort. There is no on-site staff, front desk, daily housekeeping or property amenities other than those stated in the listing.

20. No Night Swimming. Use Common Sense. Please use common sense and caution in all activities during your vacation, but especially in the water. Be aware of tides, winds and currents. Be aware that dangers exist in the water, such as sharks, stingrays, barracuda, jellyfish (and smaller thimbles), sea urchins and sharp objects, etc. We suggest that you do not swim or wade in the early evening or at night, when sharks are more likely to come to shallow water to feed. Don’t swim alone or if you’re impaired from drinking alcohol. Please limit your beach swimming or snorkeling to stay near the shoreline. Although the water off of Seaside is shallow, there is boat traffic, and swimmers may not be easily seen.

21. Sun Protection. The sun in the Bahamas is likely much stronger than what you are used to. Please use the various sun protection techniques (e.g., sunscreen lotion, hats, clothes, shade, avoid sun in strongest hours, etc.) that work best for you. Drink plenty of water, stay hydrated.

22. Drive on Left. No Child Drivers. If you rent a golf cart, or drive any vehicle, remember to stay on the left-hand side of the road! Drive carefully and check turns and other blind spots. If you swerve to avoid someone coming toward you, swerve LEFT! Only licensed drivers may drive, including golf carts. Local police will stop young drivers to check.

23. No Bank/ATM. There is no bank on the island or in the area, so please bring plenty of cash on your vacation as some local stores and service providers operate on a cash-only basis. Some businesses accept Visa and MasterCard with an additional 5% processing fee.
