Frequently Asked Questions

About Seaside

  • Yes. Multiple units can be reserved together to accommodate larger parties traveling as a group. Together, Seaside’s five units can accommodate up to 14 guests comfortably, or up to 18 when including children on sleeper sofas.

For those seeking a single private home for up to 8 guests, consider our sister property, Gibraltar — a spacious 4BR/3BA residence with its own backyard beach in South Staniel.

  • Seaside units do not include washers and dryers. There is an excellent drop-off laundry service, and other local options, should the need arise. Please inquire with management for details.

  • Yes — all units include a hairdryer and iron, along with many other thoughtful touches to make your stay comfortable. See our Amenities page for full details.

  • Seaside does not include daily housekeeping service. Units are fully cleaned prior to arrival. Please inquire with management about additional cleaning services as a separate transaction through their concierge services.

  • No. Like all beaches in The Bahamas, the shoreline is public up to the high-water line. The beach next to Seaside is lightly used and literally 6 steps from Seaside’s deck. While not private, it offers a peaceful, uncrowded setting with easy access for swimming, wading and paddleboarding.

  • Yes. Seaside welcomes families. Children should always be supervised, particularly around the waterfront deck and beach areas.

  • As with any tropical destination, insects can be present, particularly at dawn and dusk. We recommend bringing or purchasing insect repellent.

  • Yes, every Seaside residence has quiet, split-unit air conditioning in the living area and bedrooms.

  • Yes. Staniel Cay is part of the “Family Islands,” a name that reflects the close-knit community and welcoming spirit of the Out Islands. The Village is a friendly, family-oriented neighborhood where guests can feel very comfortable walking around.

Like any destination that welcomes visitors from around the world and a broader mix of people working on the island, we simply recommend basic vacation common sense. Lock doors and secure valuables against the possibility of petty theft so your stay remains as carefree as the island itself. While most guests feel comfortable walking at night, including solo travelers, just be mindful of your surroundings as you would anywhere.

With that in mind, guests consistently find Staniel Cay to be relaxed, welcoming and safe — a place where it’s easy to settle in and feel at ease.

  • Seaside offers two booking options: instant online booking through Airbnb or direct reservations through 3N’s Exuma Vacations. Visit our Seaside Units booking hub for details and links.

  • Seaside is ideally situated within Staniel Cay’s Village settlement, placing guests within a short stroll of the island’s restaurants, bars, shops, grocery stores, docks and beaches. See the map and additional info here.

Trip Extras

  • Most Staniel Cay visitors do rent a golf cart for convenience in the warm climate, even though Seaside’s central location makes most spots very walkable.

Golf carts are available to rent online through Seaside’s management company (as a separate transaction) or by calling another vendor, Rock-N-Rolle at (242) 524-2852 or (242) 468-0389. Seaside does not operate or manage golf cart rentals directly.

Seaside provides free, on-site parking for golf carts, including electrical outlets for charging. Driving is on the left side of the road, and all drivers must be licensed (no child drivers).

  • Exploring by water is one of the highlights of a Staniel Cay trip. Guests can either rent a boat (if experienced) or book guided tours to visit nearby attractions such as Thunderball Grotto, the swimming pigs, sandbars, iguanas and more. Tours are a great option for first-time visitors or those who prefer a more relaxed, guided experience.

Inquire with our management company (as a separate transaction) or email us at StanielCaySeaside@gmail.com for referrals. Seaside does not operate or manage rental boats or tours directly.

  • If you are traveling to Staniel Cay on your own boat, arrange dockage at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club or ask our management team for referrals.

If you are renting a boat, dockage is typically arranged through your rental provider, or they may permit small boats (e.g., 17’ Whaler) to anchor 75 feet offshore in front of the beach next to Seaside.

  • For added convenience, advance provisioning services can be arranged — especially for longer stays, hearty appetites or must-have items. Our management team offers provisioning service through their concierge company (as a separate transaction).

About Staniel Cay

  • Most visitors arrive by air from Nassau or Fort Lauderdale into Staniel Cay Airport (TYM), while boaters arrive by private vessel or yacht. (There is no ferry service.) Private flight charters are also available.

For a more detailed overview of travel options and tips please visit this page.

  • Yes, but only by private charter. There are no flights between Staniel Cay and George Town on commercial or regional airlines.

  • While private boats and yachts frequently travel between Nassau and Staniel Cay, there is no regular ferry service. We do not suggest renting or chartering a small boat ride as the trip can be uncomfortable, and unexpected weather challenges could delay your vacation! Flights offer a much quicker and more direct arrival.

  • Hurricane season runs from June through November, with the peak seemingly late August to mid-October, although weather patterns vary. While many days are still beautiful during this time, weather can be less predictable.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended at all times, but particularly during hurricane season, to protect your plans.

  • Staniel Cay is casual and laid-back, so light, comfortable clothing is ideal. Think swimsuits, cover-ups, sandals, sun protection and anything you may want for boating or beach days. For evenings, leave the stiletto heels at home. If you prefer a little height in your kicks, go with a wedge or chunky heel.

  • The Bahamian Dollar (BSD) is used locally and is on par with the U.S. Dollar (USD), which is widely accepted throughout Staniel Cay. You can pay with either USD or BSD cash, and you will get a mix of both in your change!

  • Staniel Cay is in the Eastern Time Zone, the same as New York and Miami.

  • Many businesses accept credit cards, but some do not, so bring plenty of cash. Those who do accept credit cards apply a credit card processing fee, typically 5%. International fees also may apply depending on your credit card. AmEx is not accepted most places on Staniel—bring Visa or MasterCard.
